INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY Date : 08-03-2025 Location : GDC Kalakote Three-Day International Women's Day Celebrations at GDC KalakoteNSS Unit of GDC Kalakote in collaboration with Cultural Committee of the Collegecelebrated International Women's Day with a three-day event, showcasing women's achievementsand addressing safety-related issues. Day 1: Celebrating Women's AchievementsOn March 8, 2025, the college hosted a lecture series featuring esteemed speakers whoshared inspiring stories of women's achievements in various fields. The speakers highlighted thecontributions of women in shaping society, overcoming challenges, and breaking stereotypes. Theprogram was started with a welcome address performed by Prof. Khalida Parveen. The Chief Guestof the Programme was Principal of the college Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza. In his speech hecongratulated everyone on International Women’s Day and in his message said that females aregetting better in every field as compared to males. We can see them flying high in sky and alsoachieving every greatness. Women should be given proper Education and Support so they canbecome best version of themselves. While speaking on the occasion, he stated the role of Women inday today’s life and also stressed on the gender equality in present era as the theme of this year was“Gender Equality Today for Sustainable Tomorrow.” Dr. Basharat (HOD Arabic) and Miss. SapnaDevi also highlighted the importance of women in society. All the student and faculty of the collegeparticipated in the event. Day 2: Addressing Safety-Related IssuesOn March 10, 2025, the college organized a special lecture on safety-related issues affectingwomen. Prof. Khalida Parveen emphasized the importance of creating a safe and secureenvironment for women, discussing topics such as violence against women, harassment, and legalrights. Ms. Pooja Devi student of semester 4th also stated in her speech that the Women should begiven proper Education and Support so they can become best version of themselves.The three-day celebration aimed to empower women, promote gender equality, and raiseawareness about issues affecting women's lives. The event was attended by students, facultymembers, and staff of the college. At the end the event was concluded with a formal of vote ofthanks presented by Ms. Savita Sharma. Day 3: Valedictory SessionThe three-day programme at college came to a successful conclusion on 11th of march with avaledictory function. The event was attended by all the students and faculty of the college. Principalof the college presented certificates to the meritorious female students of outgoing semester as wellas to the dedicated female staff of the college. He also expressed his gratitude to the participants,organizers, and dignitaries for making the programme a success.At the end the event was concluded with a formal of vote of thanks presented by Ms. SavitaSharma.
