GDC Kalakote conducted a Seminar on Drug Abuse

Government Degree College Kalakote conducted a Seminaron Drug Abuse on 27^th of November, 2024 under the banner of “NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan” with the able guidance of Principal Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza.The NSS wing in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club spearheaded the programmeeffectively. The programme commenced with a formal address by AssistantProfessor Mrs. Khalida Parveen (NSS PO).She informed the students about theimportance of games, sports and meditation for developing a healthy mind in ahealthy body.

Principal Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza while addressing thestudents, said that adolescent age is most prone to drug abuse and henceaddiction. He briefed the students on the various initiatives/programmesundertaken by the Indian government and NGOs for the eradication of thisbaffling problem from the Indian society. He also motivated thestudents to mitigate the threat, so they could contribute to the Nasha MuktBharat Mission. Moreover, he appreciated the organizers, speakers and studentswho participated in the Seminarand also encouraged the students in order to channelize their energy in apositive direction.

All the staff members and the students of the collegeattended the seminar. At the end the programme concluded with a formal vote ofthanks presented by Asst. Professor Davinder Singh (HOD Hindi).
